For the past couple of weeks we have been doing an animation project in GT. Our project was called Adventure Alters Jack. It is about two stick figure drawings that fall in love and live in a paper world, Sally then gets ripped away from him and thrown into the garbage. He went on adventures to find her and eventually got reunited. We had to do three different types of animation and we chose stop motion, claymation, and digital animation. For the stop motion we filmed Imani walking, pages in the journal turning, and the paper ripping(we didn't actually video film but we took tons of pictures to create a sort of flip book effect). Then for the claymation we had to film Jack coming out of the portal, walking and climbing into the trashcan. Then for digital animation we used the Stykz program to do the journal scenes and the end scene. After we finished editing we exported and presented it to the class. We got voted exceeds requirements and best in our class by 61%. I was proud of our video and was glad to have been able to learn all of the different animation types.

Words of Wisdom
Our words of wisdom video was an interview of my mother Jessica, a nurse in in the OB GYN section of the hospital, talking about her experiences in nursing and being a single mom. For the project we -Charlotte, Imani, and One- filmed the interview of Jessica in front of her desk (the background was blurry anyways) and we had her talk about her job and some other things. For the interview we had Jessica were a mic so that we would get good sound quality and made sure we had natural lighting. After we watched over the interview and made sure it was good quality and had enough material to finish the video, we filmed the B-Roll. To film the B-Roll we got some shots of the college she went to, the outside of the hospital, Her talking and working with a patient(an actor), some shots of her and her family, and some other stuff. After we got the interview and B-Roll we recorded the voiceovers. Then we edited the video and we had a good finished video story. The words of wisdom in our video was to, no matter what keep on trying, but also to follow your heart and your mind. She talked about how she was a single mother going through college and working in the hospital and how rewarding it is for her to work and help women through their pregnancies.

Practice Profile story
Before working on the final HIKI NO video we did a practice story. The practice story was an interview on Imani about her plans for school and the future. We asked her about what she likes to do, what school she wants to go to, etc.. The purpose of doing this practice video was to get us ready for the actual Hiki No video and to practice sequencing and great composition techniques. We chose Imani as a subject because she is interested in art and we though it would make an intriguing story. It didn't end up being SUPER entertaining or inspiring but it was good for our first interview video.

Polar Panoramas
These are my two best examples of my polar panoramas. First I made sure I had all of my equipment charged and ready. Then I brought my equipment to a beautiful scenery spot where I could get a good view of a horizon line. I took my pictures in a vertical fashion, so I made sure to follow the horizon line while getting a 360 view of my surroundings. After i took all my pictures I Uploaded my photos onto my computer and stitched them together to form a panorama. I then resized my panorama to be a perfect square and rotated it upside down. Then I applied the polar filter and retouched.
I added a cut out of myself to mimic the idea that my polar pano is a mini world. After editing my portrait photo, I used the Quick Selection Tool to cut out the background, refine the edges, and resize the layer to fit my polar pano perfectly. The last step was to create a shadow. I did this by making a copy of myself , decreeing the exposer to make it black, then decreasing the opacity.

Spherical Panoramas
These are my two best examples of the spherical Panoramas that I created. First I took two different sets of 10-15 images in a 360 degree rotation with a small overlap to allow for a smooth panorama. I then edited the images in Adobe Camera Raw and compiled into a panoramic image using PhotoShop's PhotoMerge plugin. After i had made a successful panorama i resized it to be square and used a polar coordinates filter. I then contracted and feathered the edges using the elliptical marquee tool. Then lastly i added a white or black background to the picture and I was done!

All About Me
Hello peoples!
My name is Cambria Miles and I go to Kapa'a Middle School. Born in California but now in Kauai, Hawaii. I am 13 years old and I love art and music. Music is my life! I love to hang out with friends, travel, and just have fun. I went to a private school until 6th grade, then I switched to Kapaa Middle School and joined the GT class when I Started 8th grade.
I do my best to stay on track in school and make sure to work hard and get good grades. Reading and education is important to me but so is having fun. I love that in my G.T class we can do both, have fun while still learning. My friends and family are awesome and super supportive and with out them I would definitely not be the person I am today. Speaking of, it was my friends who first got me into acting and made me sign up for the Kauai Performing Arts Program(KPAC).
KPAC,GT, and all of my friends are what I look forward to and enjoy in life. They inspire me to be more adventurous and to take more risks. But they are good risks. They kind that, if they go right, and improve your life can help you reach your goals.
